Privacy Policy

1. Local-First Architecture

CareerPath AI is built with a privacy-first, client-side storage architecture. Your profile details (study background, skills inventory, timeline, and weekly hours), personalized roadmaps, project progress, and interview practice notes are saved strictly in your browser's local storage (localStorage). We do not run persistent database user accounts.

2. No Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Required

You are never asked to provide your real name, email address, phone number, government identity, or payment details. Name input is strictly optional and used solely to personalize printable export headers in your local browser window.

3. AI Integration & Data Transmission

When you choose to enable AI Career Coach or AI-enriched recommendations, only non-identifying technical parameters (such as technical skill names, experience tier, and target role) are transmitted to our secure Google Gemini serverless gateway.

• We do not store prompts or generated responses on external servers.
• We do not sell, rent, or monetize your queries.
• You can use CareerPath AI in 100% offline Local Guidance Mode without any AI transmission.

4. Zero Third-Party Advertising & Tracking

CareerPath AI does not embed advertising trackers, commercial analytics SDKs, session replay scripts, or third-party cookies.

5. Data Export & Permanent Erasure

You have complete sovereignty over your data. At any time via the Data button in the application header:

• Export: Download your entire profile and progress as a portable JSON file.
• Delete: Erase all locally stored data permanently with the "Reset All Data" option.

6. Open-Source Transparency

Our source code is publicly accessible on GitHub. You are welcome to audit our implementation, inspect our serverless routes, or run the application locally on your own machine.
